| The Euopean Union Law: Textbook / Ed. by prof. Kashkin S.Yu.
– Moscow: Jurist, 2002. – 925 pages.
The textbook on the European Union Law is the most comprehensive
and updated study of the EU legal system ever published in Russia
and in the Eastern Europe.
It covers the whole range of the EU institutional and substantive
law including the history of the European integration, the structure
and competences of the EU, human rights, the Economic and Monetary
Union.
Along with traditional areas of the EU jurisdiction (the common
market, competition and agricultural law) the volume also deals
with a number of new legal subjects which have only recently come
within the realm of the EU activity: the law on electronic commerce,
visa policy, criminal law and criminal procedure etc.
The special section of the book is concerned with the EU legislative
measures against international terrorism.
Being almost an “all-embracing” overview of the European legal
order the volume may become a useful source of information both
for the beginners and for qualified lawyers. It can serve as a concise
encyclopedia of the European Union as well.
The textbook was written and published by the collective of professors
and lecturers of the largest legal institute in Russia – the Moscow
State Academy of Law. Most of the authors work within the special
department of the Academy – the Chair of the European Union law.
